About Me
Who I am
I'm a Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with hands-on experience in robotics R&D, product development, and manufacturing automation. I like combining mechanical engineering (CAD, 3D printing, and physical builds) with electronics and embedded software to create systems that actually ship and get used.
How I Think About Engineering
To me, electricity is magic, harnessed by computer science, and channeled through mechanical engineering. I like working at the intersection of these layers: designing mechanisms that move, circuits that sense and actuate, and code that orchestrates everything into a coherent product.
In product development, I focus heavily on human-centered design and product-market fit. I like creating concepts that can integrate naturally into existing product lines through licensing - fitting a company's brand, manufacturing constraints, and customer expectations.
What I love building
Product Development Engineering
I use human-centered product design principles to create market-fit products that solve real problems. I especially like designing products that can fit seamlessly into existing product lines through product licensing. I focus on unique, simple, and effective solutions instead of over-complicated tech.
Industrial Automation
I enjoy automating manual tasks and building efficient machines. I'm interested in systems that move, sense, and coordinate on their own - using actuators, sensors, and control logic to improve reliability, safety, and throughput.
Robotics
My robotics work overlaps with both product development and automation. I like designing mechanisms, integrating electronics and embedded controllers, and writing software so robots can perform useful work in the real world, not just in simulations.
