Blue Pi(g) is a Hack the North team prototype exploring how a physical device can make saving goals feel more tangible than a standard budgeting app. I focused on the hardware build and electronics.

Problem
Saving money is usually passive and easy to ignore compared to spending. Most tools track progress, but don't create a tangible reward loop that keeps users engaged.
Solution
A goal-based saving experience paired with a physical pig device to make progress feel more real. The prototype includes a simple app flow for goals, spending views, and a themed savings shop concept.
Mechanical Highlights
- Physical prototype build: Assembled and integrated the pig device hardware for live demo use.
- 3D-printed form factor: Printed and fit a pig-shaped enclosure intended to make the system feel like a product instead of a dev board.
- Demo-ready packaging: Focused on stable mounting, cable management, and durability for a hackathon showcase.
Software Highlights
- Goal flow: Basic goal creation/editing screens to track a target amount and progress.
- Spending view: A simple analytics screen for category breakdown visualization.
- Concept store: Savings Shop screen to frame saving milestones as purchasable steps.
